British Airways names its top destinations for 2013

Compiled by a group of travel experts BA names its top 13 destinations for 2013.

1. Sri Lanka
The ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’, the tropical island of Sri Lanka has seen a recent boost to tourism, becoming the must-visit destination for intrepid travellers. More…

2. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
The place with all the buzz at the moment. More sporting events coming up than you can poke a stick at, including the next Olympics and the 2014 football world cup. Rio de Janeiro is a famous destination known for its massive Jesus statue and fabled beaches.

3. Seoul, Korea
Another up and coming economic powerhouse. Tourism is on the up as well.

4. Croatia

Dubrovnik. The jewel of the Adriatic and a very beautiful place. This year, the number of passengers using the airport surpassed the level reached in 1987.

5. Vietnam

Vietnam is simply stunning. Culture, beaches, mountains, food and history. It is not overly touristed and retains its charm.

6. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Great value family fun and an increasingly popular destination.

7. Derry, Northern Ireland

9. Tbilisi, Georgia

Culture aplenty and nice walks too, a “new” destination for tourism.

Golf, scenery and food. California. Nice.

Another extra-ordinary location which has loads to interest all. Whether it is surf, safari, food or culture.

12. Alicante

Fiesta!! No one does it like the Spanish.

13. Dubai

Luxury in the midst of the desert. Very hot though.
