Pandas

To promote its new service to Chengdu in China, British Airways recently invited some very special guests on one of its flights.

Chengdu is the is the capital of Sichuan province in Southwest China. It holds sub-provincial administrative status and, as well as being a major business destination, is also the closest city to the natural habitat of pandas; accordingly, the city has strong tourist appeal.

British Airways will be the first and only airline to offer direct flights between the UK & Chengdu and, to mark the occassion, has some great introductory special offers. Flights in World Traveller start from just £508 per person, World Traveller Plus from £808 and Club World from £1888 – the number 8 is of course considered lucky in China.

Flights will be operated 3 times a week from Heathrow Terminal 5 to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) using a 3 cabin 777-200. Flights will depart London at 15:30 arriving Chengdu at 08:55 the following morning while the return flight departs at 10:55, getting back into London at 15:00 the same day.
